BuildShift is a voice AI demonstration platform built by Bernard Garekani. It shows an AI voice agent answering calls, qualifying leads, recognising returning callers, handing sensitive requests to a human, and reporting every interaction to a live dashboard.
Live AI voice agent
What the platform demonstrates
Example call scenarios the agent can handle
Live demo
Have a real conversation with the AI voice agent in your browser, or call the live demo line. It is the same agent that answers, qualifies, and routes calls.
Spek AI
Live web demo
Enter your work email and Spek looks up your company and tailors the demo.

How it works
Every call flows through a verified pipeline. The AI handles the conversation, while sensitive actions are routed to a human.
A customer dials your business number. Spek picks up instantly, 24/7.
The backend checks the caller's number. Known customer? Support mode. New caller? Sales mode.
Natural voice conversation. Sells, qualifies, onboards, or answers support questions from the knowledge base.
Signs up new customers, creates support tickets for sensitive requests, or logs the call, all automatically.
Sensitive requests (passwords, billing, cancellations) are never handled by AI. They're ticketed for your team.
Features
Never miss an after-hours lead. Spek answers every call, day and night, weekends and holidays.
Qualifies leads, captures details, and signs up new customers on the spot, no human needed.
Answers common questions from your knowledge base. Anything sensitive goes straight to a human.
Recognises returning customers by phone number and greets them by name. New callers get the sales pitch.
The AI has no tool to perform sensitive actions. Passwords, billing, and account changes always go to a human.
See every call, signup, and ticket in real time. Full visibility into what your AI agent is doing.
Architecture
A modern voice-agent stack: conversational AI, structured tool calling, workflow automation, and human handoff patterns, served on Next.js and deployed on AWS behind Route 53 and an application load balancer.
A Claude language model drives the conversation over Vapi, both on a real phone line and through an in-browser call.
The agent calls typed tools (caller lookup, product info, sign-up, ticket creation) with validated arguments, rather than free-form text.
Inbound numbers are checked against the data store to branch between a sales flow for new callers and a support flow for known ones.
The agent has no tool to perform sensitive actions. Passwords, billing and account changes are turned into tickets for a human.
Demo visitors are matched to their company from their email domain, and that context is passed into the call to personalise it.
Calls, sign-ups, tickets and bookings are written to a database and surfaced in a live internal dashboard.
About
BuildShift is a voice AI demonstration platform designed and built by Bernard Garekani to explore AI voice agents, telephony workflows, lead capture, trust boundaries, notifications, and dashboard reporting.
The platform showcases modern voice-agent architecture including conversational AI, structured tool calling, workflow automation, and human handoff patterns. It is a working prototype and technical showcase, not a commercial service.
